Jews Behaving Badly – Rep Jerry Nadler
In this edition, we highlight the terrible, ignorant statements made by a powerful man whose job is to know better:
Representative Nadler is a member of the US House of Representatives and chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. He swore an oath to the US Constitution, including the bill of rights, the first time he was elected to office and every time he was re-elected. I’m not sure if he has read it recently or pays attention to it, but the Fifth Amendment says “nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb”. Kyle Rittenhouse has already been found not guilty of all charges by a jury of his peers in a court of law. It is a massive violation of both the letter and the spirit of the US Constitution to try him again in another court for the same events. Nadler should know this – it’s his job to know this.
Furthermore, his position on the Judiciary Committee means that every statement he makes contributes to setting the tone for how we all view justice in this country. He could have used that power to uphold the principles of the Constitution that he swore an oath to uphold. Instead, he used it to perpetuate a modern-day witch hunt.
He should also know that the jury in this case has the best information of anyone regarding all the facts of the case. They’ve sat through and watched every minute of the trial. How much has Nadler watched? They know a lot more about the case than he does, which is evident by his repeating of multiple false tropes, like that he “crossed state lines” and was “looking for trouble”. He’s also whitewashing arson, rioting, and criminal violence that took place during the Kenosha protests as “First Amendment-protected protest”. I guess the Constitution only matters when you can twist it into justifying your buddies destroying communities anytime something you don’t like happens.
Nadler has no shortage of sins against both America and traditional Judaism to write about, but everything about this tweet is so horrible in multiple ways that it deserves a fresh kick from Balaam’s donkey. And have you noticed that he really does look an awful lot like the Penguin in the Batman movies?
